Emilia Farrell was born in Chernovtsy, Ukraine. She returned to painting after working professionally as a piano teacher (Chernivtsy, Ukraine), singer at the Pokrovsky Ensemble (Moscow, Russia), and a music director of "Na Vulitse," (Boston, MA). At various times she studied art with Sanjarov, Monique Johannet, Barbara Baum, Sue Miller, and David Small. Her works are in numerous private collections.
The subject matter of her works is landscape, still-life, and portrait in the traditional and impressionistic/tonalist styles. She continuously expands her knowledge of art history, concepts and ideas of various time periods, as well as the use of techniques and materials, as the creative forms of expression in the contemporary arts.
Since 2007 she has been teaching oil painting classes privately, and is a member of Oil Painters of America (OPA).
